The Setting

Tucked into the hillside of Lomas de Pozuelo in Río Real, Jardines de las Lomas is one of those places that takes you by surprise.

Don't be deceived by the candy-coloured cottage-style exterior. Step inside and you find generous family space across three well-considered floors, each with its own character and purpose.

A small, immaculately kept complex of just 18 townhouses, arranged around mature communal gardens and a quiet private pool. Many of the owners live here permanently, and the mix of nationalities and genuine neighbourly warmth gives it a community feel that is increasingly rare this close to Marbella.

You are four kilometres from Marbella town centre: five minutes by car, or forty minutes on foot via the Senda Litoral coastal boardwalk. The beach is a fifteen-minute walk. And yet up here, surrounded by green hills and birdsong, you would never know it.

The Living Room

The lower ground floor is the heart of the home: a spacious, bright living and dining room with a fireplace that earns its place in the winter months and stays cool through the summer. Sliding doors open directly onto the private terrace, blurring the line between inside and out.

Our co-founder Louise lives in the urbanisation and has opened up this level into a full open-plan living, kitchen and dining space that flows seamlessly onto the terrace and the communal gardens beyond. It is a layout that works beautifully for families and for entertaining alike.

Cooking and Dining

The kitchen is independent and fully fitted on the lower ground floor, alongside a guest WC. The terrace, around 35 m² of private outdoor space, extends the dining area outdoors for much of the year, with the communal gardens and pool just beyond.

The Bedrooms

The entrance level, the middle floor, holds two well-proportioned double bedrooms, each with fitted wardrobes, French balconies and a southwest orientation that frames beautiful mountain and sunset views. A recently renovated full bathroom with walk-in shower and electric towel rail serves this level.

The top floor is given entirely to the master suite: twenty-seven square metres of bedroom space, a large wardrobe and a renovated en suite with walk-in shower. Direct access to a private balcony looks out over the residential area and the mountains beyond. Louise calls it her tower bedroom — a genuinely private retreat that could equally work as a teenager's den, a home office, or a guest suite with its own level of the house.

The Outdoors

The 35 m² private terrace on the lower ground floor is south-facing and wonderfully usable. It opens directly from the living room and connects to the communal gardens, giving the feel of a much larger outdoor space without the maintenance.

The communal gardens are mature and beautifully kept, with the private community pool sitting at their centre. For a small complex of 18 homes, the outdoor space is exceptional.
